Hello 2012 Wedding Couples (Brides and Grooms):

Congratulations to all of the wedding couples who had weddings in 2011! Over The Edge Entertainment is honored to share that we helped more than fifty brides and grooms realize their ideal wedding ceremony, wedding reception, or wedding dance in 2011.

We had the opportunity to deejay (DJ) so many great events throughout Minnesota and want to sincerely thank everyone who chose Over The Edge DJ Entertainment as their dj of choice for their 2011 Wedding!

For Brides and Grooms just starting to plan for 2012 and beyond, here are some quick planning tips we’ve learned in nearly 20 years as wedding professionals and entertainers:

1) Start with Your Wedding Venues:

Choosing and reserving your ceremony and reception locations is step one above all wedding planning. When talking with other wedding professionals you will find that many vendors won’t be able to provide you with an accurate quote until you’ve answered two key questions:

1. Where?
2. When?

Keep in mind that many popular venues may have popular days/dates booked more than a year in advance. That leads to step 2.

2) Start early on the important things!

Consider the most important things that will make your special day yours. Secure your ceremony and reception venues, caterer, disc jockey entertainment (DJ), florist, and photographer as soon as possible. Don’t be afraid to consider a Friday or event a Sunday Wedding, many wedding vendors may offer special discounts for couples who select a Friday or Sunday wedding.  If you feel great about a particular vendor, book it!  You will save time and likely money, making the months before your wedding relaxing, rather than stressful because you waited too long

3) The Wedding Vendors You Choose Should:

• Be Experienced and Provide Experience.
• Be 100% Reliable and Available.
• Provide you Options and Expert advice/solutions.
• Have a Backup Plan, Insurance, and a Someone you can Contact Directly up to and the Day of your Wedding.

4) Research Online and In Person (Attend Local Bridal Shows)

Bridal Shows will bring you face-to-face with local wedding professionals. We encourage you to check out a bridal show.

You get a feel for the staff that make up the vendors you are considering and can compare/contrast wedding vendors in just a few hours!
